I am sure many of our clients watched the presidential debate last night as Brett & I did. I know for myself I really have taken the right to vote for granted and haven’t put much thought into it in previous years. Regardless of which way you vote or who you are voting for it is very important to express that right.

I know a lot of my newlyweds will need some info because ya’ll have just moved or name changes etc.

• U.S. Citizen
• 18 years or older
• Have lived in Alabama for 30 days or more
• Have never been convicted of a disqualifying felony

Where to Register:

• You may register to vote in any county when applying for or renewing a driver’s license or identification card.

• You may also register while applying for services at state and local offices listed below:

• Alabama Medicaid Agency
• All county and some municipal libraries
• Department of Human Resources
• Department of Public Health
• Department of Rehabilitations Services

• You can also register by mail by getting a postcard from a library, public school, college, university, probate office or armed force recruiting station.

• Or you can mail-in a downloaded from www.sos.alabama.gov.

• To find out where you are registered to vote call 1-800-274-VOTE

Important Dates:

• If you move from one county to another, you must register with the Board of Registers in your new county a minimum of 10 days before elections.
• October 24 is the deadline to register to vote in the November 4 general election.
• October 30 is the last day to make an application for absentee ballots.
• November 3 is the last day to hand deliver or postmark absentee ballots.
